The Indian healthcare industry is one of the fastest growing sectors of India but an overwhelming majority of people especially in smaller towns and cities do not have access to affordable high-quality healthcare. The Kauvery Hospital’s mission from day one is to deliver world-class healthcare at an affordable cost. Because let’s face it, at some point in their lives most people are going to seek medical help and they must be reassured that they’re going to get the best care in the world at an affordable cost.

The founders of Kauvery Hospitals strongly believe that this access to healthcare should be available to the common man, everywhere, and not just to the society in big cities. This led to the inception of The Kauvery Group of Hospitals, which had its humble beginnings in Tiruchirapalli, Tamil Nadu, in 1999. The mission speaks a lot about its principles and modus operandi. Kauvery Group of Hospitals is founded by doctors who are continuing to lead the organization and advance its core mission.

“We started as a tertiary care hospital providing trauma and intensive care services. From there, we expanded our services to be a multispecialty tertiary care hospital covering all specialties with the focus on critical care, neuro-intensive care, cardiac surgery, and cardiac services", says Dr. Aravindan Selvaraj, Co-Founder, and Executive Director, Kauvery Hospital Group. In the last four years, Kauvery Hospital Group has transformed into a quaternary care facility with multi-organ transplants, a focus on heart, lung, and liver transplants.

They are one of the five centers in India that offer this multi-organ transplant program. Combined with cardiac and oncology departments, Kauvery Hospital Group has a world-class equipment and technology infrastructure. The doctors at Kauvery Hospital Group are involved in one of the leading centers in cardiac interventional procedures - TAVR - and all the percutaneous procedures for cardiac rhythm abnormalities. In oncology, they can perform cutting-edge, minimally invasive surgical procedures to treat laparoscopy. The extent of their expertise is such that their Cath lab can be converted into an operation theater, which is the first of its kind in South India, apart from the doctors who have extensive experience in minimally invasive and percutaneous procedures.

A vital sector where Kauvery Hospital Group has excelled is geriatric care, where they have started a war on waste or unnecessary medication. Usually, elderly people take 10-20 pills every day, and the experts have brought down the number of medicines for senior citizens by introducing interventions in the form of therapy or diagnostics.

Such is the efficacy of the doctors of Kauvery Group of Hospitals that they can simultaneously reduce the cost of care and enhance the quality of care. Most doctors in Kauvery have exposure to International standards of Healthcare. Apart from the super specialization qualification they have garnered, they have spent manyyears in world-renowned institutions gaining experience in key specialties like cardiac, neuro, ortho, trauma, and intensive care across the globe. Take the case of Dr. Aravindan, who trained and practiced Orthopedic Surgery in leading healthcare institutions in the U.K. and Ireland. There, he got first-hand knowledge and information about hospital management.

And today, he is part of the leaders taking Kauvery Hospital Group to newer heights. Kauvery Hospital is now present in eight locations and has ambitious growth plans for the next five years. They started with a 30-bedded facility. Today they have more than 1500 beds and, in the next five years, they aim to be a 3000 bedded organization. Through all these expansion plans, the aim remains to live up to people’s expectations of affordable, quality healthcare. The checks and balances followed since the inception has helped the group bring down healthcare costs over the years, and Dr. Selvaraj is confident that they will continue to do so.
