No one can deny that Walmart has become a hugely popular marketplace in Western countries (especially the US, Canada, etc.) over the years. Walmart is a trusted platform for all top brands and sellers to connect with consumers.

And after the historic acquisition of Flipkart, Walmart is also getting serious about the Indian market. To strengthen its position in the Indian market, the company organized a one-day Global Seller Summit in Delhi on September 27.

The summit primarily inspired Indian companies to use Walmart’s marketplace to sell their products in larger international markets.

In a press release, the company said that over 500 Indian manufacturers and direct-to-consumer (D2C) companies participated in the summit, including D2C coffee brand Rage Coffee, ecommerce startup Mensa Brands, etc.

And An important announcement was made in this summit. In fact, you may recall that Walmart started adding sellers from India to its US marketplace earlier this year, to an overwhelming response from the company.

Now even American shoppers can buy products from Indian companies with just one click through Walmart.

Indian sellers are invited to apply to Walmart Canada Marketplace

But now in the recently held summit, the ‘Walmart Canada Marketplace’ has also been opened for Indian sellers and businessmen and has started accepting applications.

Clearly, Walmart’s strategy is to expand its marketplace by bringing in its existing vendor base directly from other key markets such as the US and India.

And in the current times, India becomes very important in this process, as US companies are looking for new market options as the US-China relationship deteriorates.

Recently we have seen that the world’s largest tech company, American company Apple is making all possible efforts to rapidly increase its manufacturing partnership in India.

According to reports that have now surfaced under this, the company has decided to start manufacturing AirPods and Beats headphones in India along with iPhones.
