India, a multi-player universal healthcare leader is rewriting the healthcare verse building its capabilities across services and infrastructure on the back of promising public and private sectors. This mixed model today is largely funded by the government, aiming to provide basic healthcare, particularly in rural areas, whereas the private sector leaders are more focused on providing specialized and advanced care in urban centers.

Yet due to the presence of universal healthcare in theory, challenges remain in terms of access to better care & treatment services. However, we can look up to a more equipped landscape soon as the Government of India has identified the sector as a crucial growth opportunity in the Union Budget 2025 announcement. The government has allocated Rs. 99,858 crore to the healthcare sector in the Union Budget 2025-26 for the development, maintenance, and enhancement of the country's healthcare system. This reflects a 9.78% increase from the previous allocation of Rs. 90,958 crore in FY25.
